iPhone 16 now comes with Genmoji and Image Playground AI tools in iOS 18.2: How to get started

Rave News

If you own an iPhone 16 series phone or an iPhone 15 Pro model, you may or may not have discovered the new Apple Intelligence features: Genmoji and Image Playground, which were released with iOS 18.2. In particular, Genmoji is a useful feature that allows you to create custom emojis for situations where there are no existing emojis, such as a dog in a pilot uniform or anything else you can imagine. Image Playground, on the other hand, allows you to submit text-based prompts to produce AI-generated images, including your own. If you still don’t know how to use these features, let us tell you how to get started.

How to use the word Yuanmen

Before you start using Genmoji or Image Playground, make sure you have enabled Apple Intelligence on iPhone 16 series or iPhone 15 Pro. To do this, you need to set the language to English (US) or English (UK), then go to Settings, select Apple Intelligence, and enable it. It may take a while to start as your phone downloads other data in the background.

Step one: Open the iMessage app on your iPhone 16 or iPhone 15 Pro, and then start a chat.

Step 2: Open the emoji tray. In the upper right corner, you’ll see a glowing emoji icon. Click it to start using the Genmoji feature.

Step 3: Next, you will be asked to describe the emoji. Enter text-based prompts based on your imagination – it can be anything, like a spider wearing sunglasses, or a sun emoji wearing a cape – whatever your imagination imagines.

Step 4: After entering the prompt, click “Finish”. Then, you can add the generated Genmoji by clicking the New button in the upper right corner. It will appear in your chat and you can send it easily.

You can always access the Genmoji you create by navigating to the stickers page on the default iOS keyboard.

How to use Image Playground

Update to iOS 18.2 After updating, you will notice that a new app called Playground comes pre-installed on your iPhone.

After you open the app, your iPhone may download some data in the background before you can actually use it. Once the download is complete, you can enter a text-based prompt describing the image. For example: “A cat dances on Mars.”

After you enter the prompt, Apple Intelligence will start and take some time to generate the image. The Image Playground app will generate multiple variations, and depending on which variation you like, you can save it by clicking on the three-dot menu at the top of the image. You can also share the resulting image directly from there.

You’ll find that it also suggests turning your own pictures into animated images. Just click on your image and it will generate an AI-based character for you. It’s also worth noting that you can choose from different styles, including animation and illustration, and choose different photos for reference.
