India faces Pakistan three more times after 2025 championship trophy, the championship decision

The tournament was originally scheduled for India and will now be held in a neutral venue.

Pakistan has a chance to lose to India in the 2025 championship trophy in Dubai, which has led to their elimination from family matches. According to the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), the 2025 Asian Cup will be held in September, giving Pakistan another chance to play an opponent. In order to prepare for the 2026 T20 World Cup, the Asian Cup will be played in the T20 format.

A recent report by Cricbuzz shows that fans around the world may see three Indian-Pakistan matches during the Asian Cup later this year, expected to be held between the second and fourth weeks of September. Due to the current tensions between India and Pakistan, the ACC is currently considering a neutral venue rather than a place to host in India originally planned. BCCI is still serving as host, and Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates are considering possible venues.

The ACC avoids controversy over thwarting the championship trophy by choosing a neutral position in all 19 Asian Cup matches. This decision attempts to avoid the same problems that BCCI faces, which is difficult to get the Indian government to approve the championship trophy, thus forcing the game to be held in Dubai.

Eight teams – from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Hong Kong, India and Pakistan – will compete. Nepal competed in the 2023 competition, but this time it was not eligible and he would be obvious. The first two teams entered the Super Four games and after splitting eight teams into two groups, it will be the final. India is the current champion after defeating Sri Lanka in the 2023 final.
