If you’re in the market for a subcompact sedan on a budget below $9 lakhs, the base model of the Amaze and the mid-spec VXI trim level of the Dzire could be smart choices. 2024 Honda Amaze V vs 2024 Maruti Suzuki VXi: Specifications
The 2024 Dzire uses the same 1.2-litre three-cylinder Z-series petrol engine that debuted in the Maruti Suzuki Swift earlier. The Dzire’s engine produces 80 hp and 111 Nm of torque. Transmission options include 5-speed manual gearbox and 5-speed AMT. In addition, the VXi model also comes with a CNG powertrain that produces 69bhp and 102Nm, with a claimed mileage of 33.73 km/kg.

Honda Amaze On the other hand, the 2024 Honda Amaze uses the same 1.2-liter 4-cylinder engine as before, with a choice of 5-speed manual gearbox or CVT gearbox. The engine produces 89 hp and 110 Nm of torque. The 2024 Amaze is also available with a CNG powertrain, but the CNG kit is installed at the dealer level at an additional cost $100,000.

The mid-spec 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire VXi comes with black 14-inch steel wheels with wheel covers, chrome front grille, side indicators on ORVMs and body-color door handles and ORVMs. On the interior, the main highlight is the 7-inch SmartPlay Pro touch screen, which supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The 2024 Dzire VXi also includes steering wheel-mounted controls as well as USB, Bluetooth connectivity and a four-speaker setup. Other amenities include rear air conditioning vents, rear center armrest with cup holders, USB Type-A and Type-C fast charging ports for second-row passengers and an additional USB Type-A charging port on the center console. Drivers also benefit from height-adjustable seats, while the ORVMs adjust and fold electrically.
Meanwhile, the base-spec 2024 Honda Amaze is well-equipped as far as the base model is concerned. The base V version comes with plastic-covered 14-inch steel wheels, LED projector headlights with DRLs, LED taillights, shark fin antenna and body-color ORVMs.

Inside, the new model offers an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for music playback through a set of 4 speakers, a 7-inch semi-digital driver display with MID, fabric Interior, rear armrest with cup holders, manual climate control, voice command, steering-mounted controls, tilt-adjustable steering, paddle shifters (CVT only), keyless entry, power backup with keyless release Box locks, power windows for all passengers, 6 airbags and ISOFIX child seat mounts. Other features included in the safety package include ABS with EBD, traction control, electronic stability control, hill start assist, day/night IRVM and rear parking sensors.
2024 Honda Amaze V vs 2024 Maruti Suzuki VXi: Price
2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire VXi trim levels with manual gearbox are priced at $7.79 Lakhs, while the automatic transmission is priced at $8.24 lakh, ex-showroom. A CNG powertrain is also available on 2024 VXi trim levels, priced at $874,000.

Meanwhile, the Honda Amaze V with manual gearbox is priced at $8 lakhs (ex-showroom), while the CVT option costs $920,000. CNG option available at additional cost $100,000, available with both manual transmission and CVT.
