Srinagar, J&K: There is a fresh heavy snow in the mountains of the Kashmir Plain, and continuous rainfall has ended the long-term drying spell, bringing much-needed relief to residents. Precipitation significantly improves drainage of rivers, streams and springs, thus alleviating concerns about shortages of irrigation and daily use.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts moderate snowfall and rainfall in parts of Jamu and Kashmir over the next 24 hours. It is expected that the intensity is highest in some areas of southern Kashmir and Jamu.
