Former Australia pacer Brett Lee takes on Indian star pacer Jasprit Bumrah after his brilliant bowling in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy ) gave high praise. With his stellar performances, Bumrah set such a standard that it always surpassed the contributions of other Indian bowlers, including the likes of Mohammad Siraj and Aakash Deep.
Bumrah has been the star of the ongoing Test series between India and Australia, taking 21 wickets in three Tests. It was Bumrah’s lethal bowling that put Australia in trouble on the final day of the Brisbane Test.
“Jasprit Bumrah is world class. Unfortunately they don’t have Mohammad Shami but I think the support of Mohammad Siraj – there is some speculation around him – but I thought he bowled really well,” Lee told Fox Sports.
“In my opinion, they have some fast bowlers in their offense, but the reason people say or think he carries the entire burden of the offense is because he’s so good. He (Bumrah) is better than any other bowler. Miles ahead, no disrespect to the other bowlers around him, but that’s what makes him good,” he added.
While bowling in the second innings, Bumrah created history as he equaled Kapil Dev’s record of 51 wickets and became the Australian Indian bowler to take the most wickets with 53 scalps. .
