Haryana govt allocates portfolio; Nayab Singh Saini stays at home, finance minister

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini retained key ministries including the home and finance ministries and cabinet responsibilities were assigned to the council of ministers on Sunday. This was three days after the incident The state’s new government is sworn in.

Saini will handle 12 portfolios, including home and financial. He will also manage planning, excise and taxation, town and country planning and urban property, information, public relations, language and culture, criminal investigations, legal and legislative affairs and housing across all sectors.

Anil Vij, MLA from Ambala Cantt, has been assigned the portfolio of energy and transport departments and labor department. He held the domestic post under former chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

The health department has now been assigned to Arti Singh Rao, who will also look after the medical education and research and ayush departments.

Rao Narbir Singh has been assigned to look after the industries, commerce, environment, forest and wildlife departments, while Mahipal Dhanda will look after school education. Vipul Goel is in charge of revenue, disaster management, urban local bodies and civil aviation and Arvind Sharma is in charge of prisons and cooperation.

Shyam Singh Rana will be in charge of agriculture and farmers welfare and Ranbir Gangwa will be in charge of public health engineering. Krishan Kumar Bedi has been awarded social justice, empowerment and SC/BC welfare, while Shruti Choudhry will be in charge of women and child development.

Saini, 54, was sworn in as Haryana chief minister at a grand ceremony in Panchkula on Thursday in the presence of NDA leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and people from across the state of thousands of people. Apart from him, 13 provincial councilors, including two women, were sworn in.
