On December 20, Jayashankar Telangana State Agriculture University, Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Jishnu Dev Varma, Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao and Vice-Chancellor Aldas Janaiah were present at the diamond jubilee celebrations of the university.
Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) Governor and Chancellor Jishnu Dev Varma has asked the university to integrate advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics and renewable energy into the agricultural sector.
He made the recommendations after inaugurating the university’s two-day Diamond Jubilee celebrations on Friday (December 20) and called for collaboration among stakeholders to advance agricultural education, research and extension.
The governor praised the establishment of the artificial intelligence laboratory and making agricultural education more accessible by reducing costs.
Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao has urged scientists to guide farmers in selecting suitable crops and technologies as they face climate change concerns. He explained the government’s commitment to the welfare of farmers through schemes such as loan waiver, insurance and Rythu Bharosa.
Addressing the meeting, University Vice-Chancellor Aldas Janaiah said that the university has so far produced 32,000 agricultural graduates over the past 60 years.
