The Department of Education (DoE) of Delhi has announced that all government schools in the city will be on winter vacation from January 1 to January 15, 2025. In addressing learning gaps during breaks.
Tuition classes in Years 9 and 11 will focus on core subjects such as English, maths and science, while those in Years 10 and 12 will focus on reviewing key pre-exam topics and practicing exam questions. All students are required to attend class and must wear school uniform.
To ensure that all students are informed, the Ministry of Education has directed schools to inform parents and students about the curriculum through various communication channels, including School Management Committee (SMC) meetings, student diaries and group text messages. Schools must also announce details at morning and evening assemblies. The Head of School (HoS) is responsible for ensuring perfect attendance.
Tutoring classes will be organized according to a structured timetable, with each session lasting at least one hour. Both morning and evening shifts will be offered, and principals are expected to submit final schedules before the start of winter break. If space is limited, especially in a double-shift school, the night shift leader can negotiate with the district office to adjust the time accordingly.
