Delhi Police has registered an FIR against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over a scuffle with the Assembly, a police officer said. FIR Sections 117 (Intentionally causing grievous hurt), 115 (Intentionally causing hurt), 125 (Act endangering life or personal safety of others), 131 (Use of criminal force), 351 (Criminal intimidation) and No. 3(5) (Common Intent) BNS registered at Parliament Street Police Station.
Earlier in the day, the Bharatiya Janata Party lodged a police complaint against the opposition leader, accusing him of “physical assault and incitement” during a melee inside the Parliament building and seeking prosecution on attempted murder and other charges. BJP MP Hemang Joshi, accompanied by party colleagues Anurag Thakur and Bansuri Swaraj, visited the Parliament Street police station and lodged a complaint.
