Delhi election results, 2025: Atishi, Rekha Gupta, in a poll of 5 women. Check the full list

This time, five female candidates, including outgoing chief minister Atishi, won the polls in the Delhi Parliament, winning the polls over eight candidates in the 2020 general election.

Atishi is the only female candidate to win this time. She retained the Kalkaji seat and beat BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri by 3,521 votes.

Four female candidates of the BJP – Rekha Gupta from Shalimar Bagh, Poonam Sharma from Wazirpur, Neelam Pahelwan from Najafgarh and Shikha Roy from Greater Kailash – won the victory.

A total of 96 of the 699 candidates in this competition are women. Five years ago, 672 candidates fought parliamentary polls, 76 of whom were women. Eight female candidates won the 2020 parliamentary poll.

Among the three major political parties in the election, the BJP and AAP each sent nine women candidates, while Congress had seven women nominees. This time, there are more candidates for these three parties than in 2020.

The BJP regained power in Delhi on Saturday after sweeping away the AAM AADMI party led by Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday, on the back of a hyper-settled campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “AAP- DA’s “AAP-DA’ (Disaster) Blitz.
