After a week of prevalence, daytime temperatures dropped slightly during the second week of March in the state’s coastal areas. However, the temperature rises in Rayalaseema, where the maximum temperature goes beyond the 40-layer area, while the rayalasema sees hot heat, with the maximum temperature going above 40°C.
The temperature remained above 37°C on Sunday (March 9, 2025), except for Nandigama and Rayalaseema, and all other sites in the state recorded temperatures below 35°C. In addition, some of these stations have lower daily temperatures than normal because their daytime temperatures are negatively biased.
However, as daytime temperatures in the Nandyal, Kurnool, Kadapa and Anantapur regions hover between 38°C and 40°C, Rayalaseema continues to boil. According to information provided by the Associated Press National Disaster Management Agency, the maximum temperature for the day was 40.3°C, recorded in Alamuru in the Nandiyar region.
Until March 7, several Mandans in the state issued “severe heat waves” and “heat waves” alerts. Most of them are in the central and northern parts of the state. From Visakhapatnam in the north to Bapatla in the south coast AP, the maximum temperature is maintained at 36°C or above.
Despite a slight decline, there is no long-term relief for people in the state. The Associated Press National Disaster Management Agency has warned the Alluri Sitharama Raju district government because there is a “severe heat wave” alert in three dominations, including Kunavaram, Vararamachandrapuram and Chinturu. There are 39 mandalas “hot wave” alerts, most of which are in the Alluri Sitharama Raju and Parvatipuram Manyam areas.
Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Amaravati, officials said earlier that the state will be hotter in the first and third weeks compared to the second week.
