A man was sentenced to 30 years in strict prison for murdering a police officer in Karnataka in 2009. The man escaped from a government hospital about 11 years ago, where he resided in the Fursungi area under false identity, police in Pune city arrested a government hospital.
Police have identified the defendant as Amrish Kashinath Koli (45) a native of Gulbarga, Karnataka.
According to a press release issued by the police today, Kohli murdered a police officer in 2009 and filed a crime against him under sections 302, 353, 332, 504 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

A court in Karnataka convicted Koli and sentenced him to 30 years in strict prison. He was then resided in prison, but on August 14, 2014, he escaped from a government hospital in Vijayabra, where he was admitted for medical treatment.
Then, a separate attack was carried out against him at the Gandhi Chowk police station in Vijayapura, Karnataka.
Meanwhile, he moved to Pune and lived in the Fursungi area of the city.
Police officers Sunil Kamble and Vaibhav Bhosale of Fursungi Police Department received information about Koli.

Therefore, the police kept surveillance of Colei and found that he had changed his identity. He operates under the names of Rahul Kamble and Raju Kale and visits Solapur frequently.
Pune police contacted the Gurbaga police station and sought photos of the defendant. Karnataka police officers were informed accordingly when the photo matched the suspect in Pune.
Two police officers from Karnataka, Bhim Nayak and Shashi Kumar Hugar from Karnataka, arrived at the Fursungi police station on Wednesday. With the help of a police team composed of Havaldar Mahesh Ubale, Sunil Kamble and Bhosale, they captured Koli and brought him to Karnataka for further investigation, the release said.
Mangal Modhave, senior police inspector of Fursungi Police Department, said: “The defendant changed his identity. He purchased a fake Aadhaar card and a PAN card. He was married when he was convicted of murdering a policeman in Karnataka. Still, he married twice after escaping in 2014. He was found working as a rickshaw driver in Pune.”

Police suspect one of his wife lives in Solapur. So he said he lived in Solapur for a few days and on other days he lived in Pune for a few days.
