Delhi Vidhansabha Chunav 2025: The Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) group of parties bravely gave up on themselves to give a collective fight to the BJP in the Lok Sabha polls. Unsurprisingly, however, regional governors are keen to stand out in state assembly elections. After the Aam Aadmi Party made it clear that it will fight the Delhi Assembly polls alone, the Congress party has sounded the poll trumpet against the ruling AAP.
Congress will begin its ‘Dilli Nyay Yatra’ on Friday with the first two stops being Harijan Basti & Haksar Haveli in Sitaram Bazar and the ancestral home of Kamala Nehru, mother of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi . The party hopes to remind people of its rich heritage and history of serving the people. The ‘Nyay Yatra’, inspired by Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, will be hosted by Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, AICC treasurer Ajay Maken and other senior leaders.
Rahul Gandhi, who is busy with the Jharkhand and Maharashtra elections, will later go on a month-long pilgrimage. Priyanka Gandhi is also likely to join yatra after the Wayanad Lok Sabha by-election polls, where she is fighting her first electoral battle. Once starting from Rajghat, the Hajj will pass through Delhi Gate, Asaf Ali Road, Turkmen Gate, Sitaram Bazar, Hauz Qazi Chowk and Katra Bariyan before ending at Fatapuri.
After suffering a setback in the Lok Sabha polls, the Congress party has chalked out a constituency-focused plan to boost its chances in the assembly elections. It divided seven parliamentary constituencies by parliament to ensure coverage of a majority of the 70 seats. The two phases of the Yatra will focus on around 40 seats.
On the other hand, the AAP has also launched a membership drive while the BJP is campaigning against the alleged failures of the Kejriwal government.
