Chaos in Parliament: The tense standoff between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress over an alleged physical altercation outside Parliament on Thursday took a new turn after NDA MPs filed a police complaint accusing the other party of assault and misconduct. .

Three NDA MPs, including Anurag Thakur and Bansuri Swaraj, have lodged a police complaint against Congress leader Rahul, an official said, PTI reported Gandhi, accusing him of engaging in “personal attacks and incitement” during the melee in Parliament.

BJP MPs Thakur and Swaraj, accompanied by a People’s Democratic Party MP, met the police at the Parliament Street police station and lodged a written complaint.

“We have filed charges of assault and sedition against Mr. Rahul Gandhi,” Thakur told media persons outside the police station. The BJP leaders said they have filed charges under Sections 109, 115, 117, 125, 131 and 351 for filing a complaint. Section 117 is voluntarily causing serious harm.

“We have lodged a complaint with the Delhi Police accusing Rahul Gandhi of assault and sedition. We have mentioned in detail the incident that took place outside Makar Dwar today, where NDA MPs were protesting peacefully… We have lodged a complaint under Sections 109, 115 Complaints, 117, 125, 131 and 351.

The allegations came after the NDA and India Bloc parties staged a protest in Parliament, which allegedly left two BJP MPs Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput injured.

The melee took place over an alleged insult to BR Ambedkar, resulting in injuries to former minister Pratap Chandra Sarangi.

The saffron party accused Rahul Gandhi of pushing the senior member, but the Congress leader denied the charge.

Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said BJP MP Mukesh Rajput was also injured in the melee.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi called Sarangi and Rajput to inquire about their health after they were injured in the Parliament building, news agency ANI reported, citing sources. A senior police officer said the police had received a complaint and were investigating the matter.
