According to sources, the Indian team will play against Pakistan at a neutral venue on February 23, 2025.
“India will face Pakistan at a neutral venue on February 23, 2025. The ICC is considering hosting the match in Colombo and Dubai,” sources told IANS on Thursday.
Teams such as Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, New Zealand and South Africa are divided into two groups of four teams each. The top two teams in each group will advance to the semi-finals.

“I’m glad we have some idea about the Champions Trophy and future ICC tournaments. It will be helpful to all stakeholders, cricket boards and broadcasters,” IPL chairman Arun Dhumal told IANS .
The last time India played against Pakistan was during the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in New York. The Men in Blue won six in a row under Rohit Sharma before clinching the title in Barbados. Their last ODI clash took place during the 2023 Cricket World Cup when India defeated Pakistan by seven wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The Indian team is placed in Group A along with Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand to compete for the upcoming championship trophy. Cities such as Rawalpindi, Karachi and Lahore will organize matches in Pakistan, while under the new arrangement, India will play matches at neutral venues.
