2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG starts arriving at dealerships
Maruti Suzuki launched the new-generation Dzire subcompact sedan in India earlier this month. The fourth generation of Maruti Suzuki Dzire was launched with prices starting at Rs. 6.79 lakh (ex-showroom). Apart from the petrol-only version, the new Dzire also comes with a petrol-CNG combination. Now, Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG has started arriving at dealerships across the country. The CNG model is available in VXi and ZXi configurations, with prices starting from Dzire petrol-CNG dual-fuel version. $8.74 lakh (ex-showroom).

GST Council to increase tax on second-hand electric vehicles
The Goods and Services Tax Council, headed by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and comprising representatives of all states and union territories (UTs), on Saturday decided to increase the tax rate on old electric vehicles to 18% . However, the GST Council clarified that the revision in electric vehicle tax rates will not affect individual sellers, but businesses selling second-hand electric vehicles will be affected. This tax increase is relatively large. Before this tax increase, the tax rate for second-hand electric vehicles was 12%. With the goods and services tax hike of 6%, second-hand electric vehicle buyers who buy electric vehicles from dealers will be affected.
