Canada’s next Prime Minister Mark Carney announced that his country will win a trade war with the United States under President Donald Trump.
The former Bank of England governor provided a speech to a group of liberals after announcing the results of the leadership contest on Sunday night.
In his speech, Carney promised to maintain retaliatory tariffs “until Americans show respect to us.”
Donald Trump signed an order last week, significantly expanding the expansion of exempted goods to Canada’s new tariffs, the White House says 62% of imports from Canada are still likely to face tariffs.
