BMW 7 Series and i7 makeover: Powertrain content
In terms of powertrain, the 740D XDRIVE has a 286 bhp peak stir diesel engine that works in the entry-level version of the 7 Series. Above are two hybrid variants, each with an electric motor integrated into the transmission, providing 197 bhp of peak power. In the 750E XDRIVE model, the 313 bhp peak power of the production internal combustion engine is paired with the motor that pumps the maximum power output of 490 bhp and 700 nm peak torque.
The M760E Xdrive’s 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine is even more powerful, and the internal combustion engine alone can produce 380 bhp of peak power. Due to the above electrical support, the maximum power output generated by the hybrid powertrain is 571 bhp and the peak torque is 800 nm. The 18.7 kWh battery pack offers a pure electric range of 77 to 87 km in two plug-in hybrid models. Expect BMW to upgrade these powertrains to offer a pure electric range of 100 kilometers in the modified model.
BMW will also offer an upgraded electric powertrain through the i7 facelift. There are three different iterations of the current i7. The base model EDRIVE50 produces 455 bhp peak power and 650 nm maximum torque. The XDRIVE60 is more powerful, producing 544 bhp peak power and 745 nm maximum torque. The top i7 M70 XDRIVE model produces 660 bhp peak power and 1,100 nm of mammoth torque. All three variants are equipped with a 101.7 kWh battery pack with a maximum range of 560 km (M70 XDRIVE) to 615 km (XDRIVE60). Modified models can improve battery and thermal management systems.
