BJP’s Naya Haridas challenges Priyanka Gandhi for election in Wayanad – Kerala News

Navya Haridas, the BJP candidate in the recent Wayanad by-election, has filed a petition in the Kerala High Court seeking removal of Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi (Priyanka Gandhi) victory.

In his plea, Haridas alleged that Gandhi withheld key details during the filing of his nomination. The petition claims that Gandhi failed to disclose information about properties owned by her and her family and failed to accurately list the cases pending against her.

The BJP leader, who lost to his Congress rival by more than half a million votes, said this was a violation of the Model Code of Conduct and amounted to corruption.

Advocate Hari Kumar G Nair, who filed the petition for Haridas, said the plea was aimed at setting aside Priyanka’s election victory. “She concealed important information about various assets owned by her and her family,” lawyer Kumar said, according to news agency PTI.

He added: “She misled, misled and kept voters in the dark with the intent of influencing their choices.”

The Kerala High Court is expected to consider the petition after the court holidays in January.

Gandhi wins first election victory from Wayanad Lok Sabha seat with 6,22,338 votes. Her rival Haridas came third with 1,09,939 votes.
