On Thursday, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Minister CM Shinde, several other Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena leaders and some National Communist Party (NCP) legislators visited the memorial of RSS founder Dr KB Hedgewar at Reshimbagh in Nagpur during the legislative session in Nagpur.
After visiting the memorial, Shinde said that no one can ignore the contribution of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in nation-building and that the ideologies of the Sangh Parivar and the Shiv Sena are the same.
Ajit Pawar did not visit the memorial, but two legislators from his party went there.
Speaking to reporters during a visit to the Hedgewar memorial, BJP MLC Chitra Wagh said there should not be any problem for NCP leaders, including Ajit Pawar, to visit Raisin Bagh.
“They (RSS) have indeed played a vital role. No one can deny the contribution of RSS in winning so many seats. RSS not only helped the BJP candidates win but even supported its allies during the assembly elections,” she explain.
Wage also said it is important to embrace positive ideologies.
“It is good to embrace a good school of thought. So, I feel they (NCP leaders) will visit the RSS headquarters. The RSS worked for Mahayuti and contributed significantly. Neither the NCP nor the Shiv Sena can deny the contribution of the RSS,” she added.
When Shiv Sena leader Dadar Booth was asked about Pawar’s absence from the visit, he said: “I am a junior party member; I cannot comment on his decision.”
He said everyone has the right to decide whether to go to these places.
“But the RSS did play a key role and helped Mahayuthy in the state polls,” Buse added.
NCP MP Raju Karemore, who visited the memorial in Hedgewar, said he went there on his own and not on instructions from his party.
“The chief whip of the BJP in the Legislative Assembly circulated a message encouraging visits to the place, which prompted me to go there,” he said.
