BJP MPs Pratap Chandra Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput were discharged from Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital on Monday, They were injured during clashes at the parliament building five days ago. The incident took place on Thursday when a scuffle broke out between opposition and ruling Bharatiya Janata Party lawmakers. The BJP has accused Lok Sabha Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi of sedition and personal attacks.
Pratap Sarangi (69) from Odisha and Mukesh Rajput from Uttar Pradesh were admitted to Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital on December 19 after suffering head injuries during the Parliament incident.
According to sources, a senior doctor confirmed that the condition of the two lawmakers has improved and they were discharged from the hospital on Monday. The MPs were initially under observation in the intensive care unit before being transferred to general wards on Saturday. Doctors revealed that Sarangi had a history of heart disease and had received stent treatment. Dr Shukla, medical superintendent of RML Hospital, said Sarangi arrived at the hospital with a deep cut on his forehead that required stitches and was bleeding heavily.
Rajput, on the other hand, suffered head injuries and fell unconscious briefly. Dr Shukla added that by the time he reached the hospital, he had regained consciousness despite his blood pressure soaring. Neither MRI nor CT scans revealed any major complications in either MP.
