Delhi Parliament witnessed high drama on Tuesday, with 21 AAM AADMI Party (AAP) MLAs including opposition Atishi were suspended for three days for damage to lieutenant governor VK Saxena Saxner (VK Saxena’s first speech at the inauguration ceremony. The suspension of voice voting was proposed by Parvesh Verma, Minister of Public Works Department (PWD). The suspended MLA will not be allowed to participate in the conference process on February 27 and 28.
The chaos began after the House lawsuit began, with Atishi and other AAP lawmakers protesting the alleged removal of BR Ambedkar’s portrait from the Chief Minister’s Office. AAP MLA accused the BJP-led government of disrespect for Ambedkar, put forward slogans and caused commotion in parliament.
Speaker Vijender Gupta was disappointed with the interruption and noted: “At the beginning of the conference, we hope that both the ruling party and the opposition can work together to develop because today’s discussion is very important.”
Since AAP has 22 MLAs in the Delhi Parliament, everyone except Okhla Mla Amantullah Khan was suspended. During the lawsuit, sweat was not sweaty.
After the suspension, 21 MLAs held protests in the parliamentary complex, holding portraits of Ambedkar and chanting slogans such as *”Babasaheb Ka ye Apmaan Nahi Sahega Hindustan” * (India will not tolerate such insults against Babasaheb) and *” Jai Bhim. “*At the press conference Attishi lashed out at the BJP, “The BJP demonstrated its authenticity by deleting the portrait of Babasaheb Ambedkar color.
AAP further claimed that Ambedkar’s portrait had been removed from the Chief Minister’s Office and Parliament venue in the Delhi Secretariat. Spokesperson Gupta postponed the meeting until 11 a.m. on February 27.
However, the BJP refuted the AAP’s claim and shared photos of the Chief Minister’s Office to prove that portraits of Ambedkar, Bhagat Singh, Mahatma Gandhi, the president and the prime minister are still displayed. “Portraits of Mahat Gandhi, Baba Sahib Bimra Ambedkar, President Bagat Singh and Prime Minister in the offices of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and other ministers on display. ”
Delhi Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh criticized the protests of AAP MLAS, saying: “This is not a protest. These AAP leaders are afraid…they are trying to create unrest in parliament rather than resign . They try to hide something.”
Singh’s cabinet colleague Ashish Sood responded to similar views, accusing AAP of trying to divert attention from corruption to corruption during the term. “Whenever AAP tries to create a commotion, it is about covering up its corruption. The CAG (Auction General and Auditor General) report will expose its misconduct,” Sood said.
The controversy began on Monday when AAP claimed that the portraits of Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh were removed from the office of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. However, the BJP accuses the AAP of trying to disperse the CAG report that people will be presented at the conference.
