Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar expressed disappointment over the stampede at Sandia theater that resulted in the death of a woman and the arrest of actor Allu Arjun.

Mr Sanjay visited child Sai Tej, who was injured in the stampede and is recovering in a private hospital, and consoled the family. He said the government’s targeting of the actor gave the whole incident a different tone and sent the wrong signal to the film industry. He said that attitude would hurt the industry.

He urged the people and parties not to politicize the issue but to take measures in the national interest to keep the incident calm. He argued that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s remarks in Parliament also sent the wrong signal to the industry and urged him not to fall into the trap of AIMIM. He opined that BRS sailed with AIMIM and lost public sympathy and the same would happen to Congress if it continues to maintain friendship with AIMIM.
