Chief Secretary (Infrastructure and Investment) S. Suresh Kumar said the state government will formulate the AP Drone Policy by November-end this year and is working towards developing Andhra Pradesh as the drone capital of India .
As many as 20,000 people in the state will be trained to operate drones. The chief secretary said training will be provided in about 24 operations.
Giving details of the two-day Amaravati Drone Summit to be held here on Monday, Mr. Suresh Kumar said that 6,929 people have registered for the summit. He said panel discussions on manufacturing, research, testing and other issues will be held during the summit.
AP Drone Company has written to various government departments to submit information on the current status of drone use, the scope of drone use, and the need for support and requirements from drone companies.
“We aim to increase the usage of drone applications. Currently, drones are being used for agriculture, law and order, healthcare, security and other purposes. Drones can also be used for artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, Machine learning and other uses.
“We will host the largest drone show on the banks of the Krishna River on Tuesday, where around 5,500 drones will be on display. Around 8,000 spectators are expected to attend the show,” said Chairman and Director, AP Drone Corporation said General Manager K. Dinesh Kumar.
For the convenience of the public, LED screens will be installed at different locations in Vijayawada. Additionally, the show will be telecast live, Mr. Dinesh Kumar said.
