Andhra Pradesh (AP) The Cabinet meeting on Thursday approved Amaravati development works worth Rs 33,138 crore and allowed Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (AP-CRDA) to raise Rs 5,000 crore loan from German state-owned bank KfW . Apart from this, CRDA also agreed to raise Rs 15,000 crore from the World Bank (WB) and Asian Development Bank (ADB) and provide a loan of Rs 11,000 crore from the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
Briefing the media about the cabinet decision, Information and Public Relations and Housing Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy said there are a total of 45 projects in Amaravati including IAS residential complexes, gazetted officers and class IV employees, flood control projects, roads and infrastructure , have been approved.
Works by Jal Jivan
Another major decision was the cancellation of tenders for 44,195 works of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) costing Rs 11,400 crore for 2019-24. Either these projects have not started at all, or the actual progress is less than 25%.
Fresh tenders will be floated to implement the works. Out of the Rs 26,824 crore provided by the JJM for 77,917 works, the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government spent only Rs 4,000 crore.
Some countries have allocated Rs 100-150 crore from the Center to JJM projects. Kerala, which is much smaller than AP, submitted proposals worth Rs 70,000 crore.
It was decided to complete 33,717 JJM projects on time, which mainly include drinking water projects in Pulivendula, Dronachalam and Uddhanam, and to redesign the haphazard works.
land subdivision
Mr. Parthasarathy said the Cabinet approved the subdivision of 48,899 union plots on petitions submitted during the land re-survey under the previous government. The subdivision is targeted to be completed within a specific time frame without the applicant having to pay the stipulated fee of Rs. 550. After reinvestigation, a total of 195,000 complaints were received.
Besides, the Cabinet also allowed AP National Cooperative Marketing Federation (Markfed) to raise additional loan of Rs 1,000 crore from National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED) to pay farmers for paddy procured from them in 2024-25 .
Polavaram works
New tenders are proposed for implementation of packages 3, 5 and 5(a) of Polavaram Left Main Canal and concrete connection of a section of Punganur branch canal as part of Handri Neeva Sujala Sravanthi Project at a cost of Rs 480 crore from available funds Get approval.
The minister said the cabinet approved the NTPC-NREDCAP joint venture to implement clean energy projects in the state with a total investment of Rs 187 crore and decided to resume the first and second year mid-day meal scheme in 475 government junior colleges students. This will benefit 1,41,000 students.
