New Delhi: Japanese automaker Honda said on Monday that it has appointed Takashima Nakajima as the new president and CEO of Honda Motor India. Nakajima will be responsible for the management changes announced by Honda Motor Co., Ltd. from April 1, 2025.
Nakajima Who is Nakajima?
Nakajima will take over Takuya Tsumura, who moved to Japan at Honda’s headquarters while completing his term in India, the automaker said in a statement. Nakajima has been the president of Honda Motor Russia since 2021.
In his latest assignment, he is also responsible for product planning, marketing and company communications for Honda’s Honda Automobile business in the domestic Japanese market. Nakajima joined Honda in 1994 and has been associated with Honda Motor Co Ltd for more than 30 years.
In several international markets including Japan, China, Spain, the Czech Republic and Russia, he has held various responsibilities in the fields of business planning, product planning, marketing and sales promotion.
Takuya Tsumura’s tenure
Honda said Tsumura played a role in strengthening the premium brand positioning of Honda India, strengthening customer-centric solutions and driving profitable growth for the company during its successful three-year term in India.
He pioneered the introduction of several advanced models, including India’s first mainstream hybrid city, E: HEV, Honda’s new global SUV Elevate, all new third-generation Amaze, and the launch of future models, including the company’s first Indian battery electric vehicle, laying the foundation for the launch.
During his tenure, Honda Motor India’s export business expanded significantly as it began to export to India to Japan.
