Bharatiya Janata Party leader Ravi on Friday struck a blow to the state’s ruling party and accused the Congress-led Siddaramaiah government of mishandling Karnataka minister Lakshmi Hebbarkar Hebbalkar for behaving like a “dictator” after being arrested.

“They (the state government) are behaving like a dictator, everything has stopped, the dictatorship will not last long,” Ravi said after his arrest on a complaint by Karnataka Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar.

The BJP leader was brought to Bengaluru to appear before the People’s Representative Court.

Earlier, the Belagavi fifth JMFC court on Friday directed BJP leader and MLC CT Ravi to appear before the Special People’s Representative Court in Bengaluru.

Hirebagewadi police presented their case to the court seeking a transit order from Ravi. The court granted their request and ordered police to detain him as part of legal proceedings.

The case will now be heard before the Special People’s Representative Court in Bengaluru.

Meanwhile, former Karnataka chief minister and BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai responded to the case and said, “When the Pakistan Sindabad slogan came up, they never arrested anyone, It took them two months to file an FCL report before making an arrest.

Here, no procedures are performed. There is a police raj in Karnataka. An investigation must be conducted, the truth must be discovered, and then action must be taken. The police are being abused today.

Ravi was arrested for allegedly making objectionable remarks against Karnataka Cabinet Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar, following which an FIR was lodged against him.
The BJP leader was arrested by Belagavi police and produced before a district court. He underwent medical examination at Murtagh Health Center in Belagavi before being produced in court.

Ravi filed a counter-complaint at the Kanapura police station in Belagavi against Congress leaders Lakshmi Hebbalkar, Chamaraja Khatiholi, DK Shivakumar, Sardar Mu and others tried to kill him.

He alleged that the police took him to Kanapura police station without providing any reason.

“At around 8 pm, the police took me to Kanapura police station. They did not tell me the circumstances under which they had brought me. They did not register my complaint; they did not even file a zero FIR. If I were out Whatever happened, the Congress government must take responsibility,” claimed CT Ravi.

Earlier in the day, Karnataka Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar spoke about CT Ravi’s alleged derogatory remarks at a meeting of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. Talking to reporters at her residence in Belagavi, she expressed her grief over the incident.
