The singer told Shubhankar Mishra on his podcast, “Music composer RD Burman is greater than Mahatma Gandhi. Just like Mahatma Gandhi is the father of the nation, RD Burman is also the father of the nation in music.”

If that wasn’t enough, the singer went on to launch an even harsher attack on Gandhi, calling him the father of Pakistan. “Mahatma Gandhi was the father of Pakistan, not India. India already existed and Pakistan was later separated from India. Gandhi is wrongly called the father of India. He was the man behind the existence of Pakistan,” he added.
