Supercars and hypercars have always influenced the art form. As one of the iconic supercars, the Pagani Zonda also holds its share in this field. Images of a one-of-a-kind Pagani Zonda supercar have surfaced online, showing the supercar wearing 100,000 gold coins and the face of Lionel Messi. The one-off art car has been exhibited at Art Basel in Miami, USA.

This special art installation inspired by the Pagani Zonda was commissioned by a famous car collector. It was constructed from 100,000 gold coins, held together by more than 500,000 welds. The piece of art is said to weigh around 1,250 kilograms, which is roughly the same size as a real Pagani Zonda supercar. Many of the coins are curved to mimic some of the curves and design elements of the Pagani Zonda. Even the wheels and tires were made from coins.

Designed by Uruguayan artist Joaquin Arbiza, this art car is a full-size replica of the Pagani Zonda F. The artist claims the Zonda-inspired artwork took three years to create, which is longer than it takes the manufacturer to build a V12-powered supercar. Several of the 100,000 coins on the obverse have been painted black and arranged to form a portrait of Lionel Messi. Clearly, both the artist and the owner of this particular Zonda-style art car are huge fans of the legendary Argentinian footballer.

The Pagani Zonda is one of the most acclaimed and interesting supercars in the world. Powering this modest machine is a 7.3-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine, which is available with a variety of transmissions. This mid-engine sports car made its debut at the 1999 Geneva Motor Show. The Zonda F or Zonda Fangio influenced the art car, named after Formula 1 driver Juan Manuel Fangio and debuted at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show.
