Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief Mahesh Kumar Goud has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BRS) of colluding with each other to mislead the first group candidates in the state.
Goud, while addressing the Gandhi Assembly on Sunday, claimed that the recent accusations made by the BJP against the state government were aimed at creating unrest among students. “Students are being misled. Coming from a Backward Class (BC) background myself, I can assure you that no candidate from the reserved category was treated unfairly during the selection process.
Referring to the controversy surrounding Government Order (GO) 29, Mr Goud dismissed claims of losses, calling it misinformation spread by the BJP to confuse candidates. “The BJP is holding protests to create chaos among the people,” he added. Goud was speaking with senior ministers Damodar Rajnarasimha, Konda Surekha and D. Sridhar Babu and the Law on Saturday Experts met and came up with a rebuttal. Their discussion on the issue was tedious and the legal opinion was that there was nothing wrong with the government order and BC, SC or ST would not lose to GO 29.
In a sharp rebuttal to BJP state president Bandi Sanjay’s remarks on unemployment, Goud raised questions about the party’s record on job creation. “Bandi Sanjay talked about unemployment, but how many jobs has the BJP-led government at the Center provided in the last 10 years? Congress has provided 50,000 government jobs to the state in just 10 months. Is BRS in 70,000 jobs in 10 years, or more jobs in less time? Which one deserves credit, he asked.
The TPCC chief also criticized the previous BRS government led by K. Chandrasekhar Rao, challenging the party’s commitment to employment. “Has the BRS provided even one Grade I job in ten years? The only notification was issued after nine years in power and the documents were leaked. Now, suddenly they are holding protests for the unemployed,” he said.
