According to reports, IT Minister Nara Lokesh’s nine-year-old son Devaansh has set a world record in the category of ‘Fastest Checkmate Solver – 175 Puzzles’. The World Records Book issued a certificate on December 21st.

According to a press release, it was a record-breaking event in which Devaansh solved a series of progressively challenging checkmate puzzles in a tight time frame, selected from the famous chess compilation ” 5334Problems, combinations and games” by László Polgár.

Mr. Lokesh said he was very excited about Devaansh’s achievement and said it was made possible by the support of his mother Brahmani and the guidance of coach K. Rajashekar Reddy. He said Devaansh had undergone rigorous training over the past six months with high concentration and was inspired by the outstanding performance of Indian chess players on the global stage.

Coach Rajashekar Reddy said Devaansh is learning chess creatively and his mental agility is very high and he can solve 175 complex puzzles sharply. Deva Anche also set two records by completing seven games of Tower of Hanoi in just 1 minute and 43 seconds, and arranged all 9 chessboards with all 32 pieces in place within 5 minutes. All record attempts are thoroughly reviewed by adjudicators and officials from the London Book of World Records.
