Bollywood actor Salman Khan has received a fresh threat from a man claiming to be from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang over a song that mentions the jailed gang. On Thursday night, the Mumbai Police’s WhatsApp number received a threatening message from a person demanding a ransom of Rs 5 crore from the actor.
The threat message read: “Lawrence Bishnoi gang. If Salman Khan pays 50 million rupees, we will let him go.”
The person also issued a death threat against the lyricist of the song “Main Sikandar Hoon” from Salman Khan’s upcoming film “Sikander”. “Whoever wrote this song, we will not let him go… Whoever wrote this song, we will end his life in the next month…”, the threat was written in Hindi The message said.
After receiving the text message, Mumbai police launched an investigation and traced the mobile number to Karnataka. According to police, the mobile number was given to a person named Vikram Dasar.
A police team was dispatched to Karnataka and alerted about the possible location and details of the number from which the threatening message was sent.
The Mumbai Police helpline has received several threatening messages against Salman Khan in the past few weeks, allegedly from members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Salman was targeted by the Bishnoi gang in connection with the 1998 blackbuck poaching case.
