BJP membership drive begins in Jharkhand

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a massive membership drive in Jharkhand on Sunday. Jharkhand BJP president Babulal Marandi launched the campaign at Khoron village in Giridih district.

He claimed that hundreds of people joined the party at the seminar.

A BJP official said the drive has started from 5,628 centers across the state.

He said the BJP has decided to recruit around 60 lakh members during the election campaign as the party secured over 59 lakh votes in the recently concluded assembly elections.


BJP workers will visit every house in villages and blocks to attract lakhs of people to the party. Senior BJP leader Amar Kumar Bori said supporters and well-wishers of the BJP can also join the party online through the website link or toll-free number. A spokesman for the party said that after this event, active membership activities will be launched from January 2 to 15.

Thereafter, a booth-level committee will be formed between February 1 and February 10.

The BJP launched a nationwide membership drive on September 2, excluding a few states such as Jharkhand, Haryana, Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir due to elections.
