Poonam Mahajan, a former BJP MP from Mumbai, has expressed suspicions about a conspiracy behind the death of her father, BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, and said She plans to write to federal and state home ministers urging them to investigate.
In an exclusive interview with India Today, Poonam Mahajan said the shootout that led to her father’s death may have had ulterior motives.
She revealed that she was unable to express her suspicions when the incident occurred in 2006, but had always had doubts about his death. Now that her party is in power at the Center and in the state, she recalled the incident and confirmed that she will write to Amit Shah and Devendra Fadnavis demanding a full investigation to uncover the the truth.
Pramod Mahajan was shot dead by his brother Pravin Mahajan on April 22, 2006, following an argument at his residence in Worli, Mumbai. Pravin fired four shots before surrendering to the police and was sentenced to life imprisonment on October 30, 2007.
Earlier in 2022, Poonam Mahajan had hinted that there might be a mastermind behind her father’s murder and suggested that the case involved more than just a family dispute and required further investigation.
