India on Thursday urged Dhaka to take action against “extremist” elements and ensure the safety of the country’s Hindu community as provocative social media posts reportedly led to tensions in Chittagong, Bangladesh.
At a weekly media briefing, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal condemned the allegation Attacks on members of Chittagong’s Hindu community.
He said the tension was caused by “inflammatory posts” on social media.
Jaiswal said India calls on the Bangladeshi government to take action against such extremists and ensure the safety of Bangladeshi Hindus.
