Mumbai: Food e-commerce platform CEO Deepinder Goyal recently appeared in the latest episode of the streaming comedy sketch show The Great Indian Kapil Show along with his wife Gia Goyal, businessman Narayana Murthy and his wife Sudha Murthy. House members.
In this episode, Kapil talks about the flirtatious push notifications sent to customers by Deepinder’s Zomato app.
“The notification from their company was so flirtatious. It felt like a girlfriend and boyfriend were talking to each other,” Kapil said.

Deepinder said, “There were times when I was typing for Gia that I thought I should give them a good notice. But not much. Let me tell you what happened. Our marketing team was very young. They didn’t have any marketing background. They are passionate people.”
He added: “So one day I gave them a briefing to build a relationship with the customer. Even I didn’t know what that meant. I didn’t have any marketing background. I read a book that said Build relationships with clients. I tell them they take me seriously.”
