West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced that she has composed a song for Chhath Puja, which will be released on the festival day on Thursday.
Addressing the public, Banerjee said, “We have given two days’ leave to Chhath. I ask you to be patient and perform puja in Ganga. I have written a song for Chhath Puja. We will have it tomorrow (Thursday) release”.
Chhath Puja is an important festival dedicated to the Sun God and celebrated with great enthusiasm in West Bengal.
Further, the Trinamool Congress president described West Bengal as a “mini India” that represents a fusion of cultures and people from across the country.
“Bengali is a mini-India. You might have a home in Bihar or Uttar Pradesh – have you ever faced problems here? Has anyone ever questioned your religion or your caste? Never. I never have. Interfered with your dressing, eating or behavior.
A few days ago, Banerjee celebrated Kali Puja with great fervor at her residence, marked by traditional rituals and attended by many participants.
