Police on Wednesday (November 6, 2024) arrested a car driver accused of raping a minor girl. Though the incident took place a few days ago, it came to light when the mother of the victim girl complained about the crime to the Nawapet (Twin Town) police station.
According to police, the accused was identified as Mohd. Ali is a 41-year-old auto driver who lives in a TIDCO house in Bhagath Singh Colony. Last week, he raped an underage girl from the same community on the pretext of providing some food.
The mother of the victim girl learned about the incident from a friend and reported it to the police. The defendant was arrested and appeared in court on Wednesday. The case has been registered under Section 65(1) of the BNS and Section 6 of the POCSO Act.
