Narayanpur: Two District Reserve Guard (DRG) personnel were injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast triggered by Naxalites in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh on Friday, police said.
The incident took place around 8.30 am near Kchchapal village within the limits of Kohkameta police station while a joint team of DRG and Border Security Force (BSF) was conducting a search operation, a police officer said.
The operation was launched from the Kachapal police camp.
He said the Naxalites detonated an improvised explosive device as a patrol cordoned off a forest near Kachapal, injuring DRC police officers Janak Patel and Gasiram Manjhi.
The injured were admitted to Narayanpur district hospital, he said, adding that they were out of danger.
