The Gujarat government on Wednesday highlighted that the ‘best-twice’ initiative aimed at “reducing the dropout rate among students” is expected to benefit more than 2.11 lakh students of Classes X and XII.
“This decision by the state government will bring down the dropout rate in the state. Those students who failed to pass the exam or failed to score good marks the first time due to any reason will pass the exam twice,” an official press release issued by the state government on Wednesday said. “Catch the best exam” and get a second golden chance.
In October, students of classes X and XII breathed a sigh of relief when the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) issued a notification allowing all students to opt for a ‘choose one from two’ option in all streams.

However, in a notification issued in October, it was announced that the “best of two” results obtained by students of classes 10 and 12 would be considered the final results. “This decision to boost student confidence will benefit an estimated 211,000+ students,” an official press release said.
Students who have failed or received lower marks in science and general subjects in classes X and The decision will apply to students taking exams in March 2025.
