At least four Kanwariyas were killed and several others injured when a car ran over them in Bihar’s Banka district on Friday night, police said.

After capturing Ganga Jal from Sultanganj, all Kanwariya people went to Jast Gaur Nath Mahadev temple.

The injured were taken to hospital, police added.

Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Bipin Bihari said, “Some Kanwariya people were hit by a car… Four people died. There were some law and order issues initially but the situation is normal. Police are at the spot…”.

After the incident, angry villagers also set fire to a police car.

Sub-divisional Magistrate (SDM) Avinash Kumar, who reached the spot, said: “We rushed to the spot immediately… Around 10 to 11 people were injured in the incident and are undergoing treatment… Four people died. Bodies Has been taken to hospital.

Meanwhile, two people were killed and 20 others injured when a private bus returning from a religious place lost control and fell into a ravine on Balrampur Road in Dheberua police station area of ​​Siddha Nagar in Uttar Pradesh on Friday evening. The victims were all residents of Mahankola village in Shohratgarh tehsil.
