Authorities said Sunday morning that Israeli police are investigating two separate all-night shootings.
In the Arab village of Zemr, a man in his 30s was shot dead in a cafe and was in critical condition to the Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera, where he was pronounced dead after a failed resuscitation attempt. Officials are looking for the suspect and collecting evidence on the scene.
Zemr is located in the Arabic triangle, a region south of Haifa, concentrated in the Arab city.
Shortly afterwards, another shooting occurred in Kafr Qara where a local man in his 30s was shot dead in a vehicle. The medical team announced on the scene that he was dead. Police and forensic investigators have launched an investigation, and the incident is believed to be criminal.
Kafr Qara is also located in the Arabic triangle.
According to the Abraham Initiative, a nonprofit that promotes the integration of Arabs into Israeli society, 50 species of Israeli Arabs were killed in violent crimes in 2025.
The peak is 230 murders in 2024. In 2023, a record number of murders of 244 Israeli Arabs were murdered, and 120 homicides were murdered in 2022.
The surge in violence is attributed to organized criminal organizations fighting turf and trying to eliminate competitors. Arab criminal organizations have been involved in blackmail, money laundering, and trafficking of weapons, drugs and women.
