D. Nageswarappa, Commanding Officer of 11 APSP Battalion, emphasized the importance of commemorating the sacrifices of police martyrs on the occasion of Police Remembrance Day at Siddavatam on Monday.
The Commander presided over the ceremony as the guest of honour, accepted the salute from the battalion police and paid tribute to the fallen police officers. He said that October 21 will continue to be commemorated to commemorate the brave and sacrificed martyrs, especially the 10 Central Reserve Police Force soldiers who fought bravely with the Chinese army on the Ladakh border on October 21, 1959.
“This day is to recognize the dedication of uniformed personnel serving the nation,” Mr. Nagaswarappa said while talking about the crucial role of the state police department in maintaining law and order.
Later, senior officers of the battalion paid tribute to Samuel and Ramesh of APSP 11 Battalion and 216 other police martyrs across the country who laid down their lives. Assistant Commander Theophilus, Inspector Alibasha, KV Ramana, CRK Raju, T. Srinivasa Rao, Govindaraju and Forest Department officials were present in the meeting.
