10 IndiGo flights, mostly international, receive new threat, receive over 100 prank calls in a week

IndiGo Airlines on Tuesday reported a series of new threats to 10 of its flights, mainly on international routes. The incidents involved multiple prank calls, bringing the total number of such threats received by the airline this week to more than 100.

The latest threats have targeted flights to major destinations such as Jeddah, Istanbul and Riyadh. IndiGo quickly adhered to safety protocols and ensured that all passengers disembarked safely and alerted authorities.

Affected flights include flight 6E 164 from Mangaluru to Mumbai, which received a security alert. Passengers disembarked safely and underwent thorough security checks. Similarly, flight 6E 75 from Ahmedabad to Jeddah was escorted to the isolation pod after landing and passengers were safely evacuated as per standard operating procedures.

Other flights facing similar threats include flight 6E 118 from Lucknow to Pune, flight 6E 67 from Hyderabad to Jeddah, flight 6E 18 from Istanbul to Mumbai, flight 6E from Delhi to Dhaka. Flight 6E 83 from Bangalore, flight 6E 77 from Bangalore to Jeddah (redirected to Doha), flight 6E 12 from Istanbul to Delhi, flight 6E 65 from Kozhikode to Jeddah (redirected to Riyadh) ) and Flight 6E 63 from Delhi to Jeddah (diversion to Madinah).

IndiGo regrets the inconvenience caused to our passengers but ensuring their safety remains our top priority. The airline works closely with the relevant authorities in each case to ensure necessary measures are taken.
